Present Perfect Simple versus Continuous

1. PPC is used when we want to emphasise the duration of an activity :
Eg. They have been waiting to buy this house for ten years !
2. PPS is used when we want to emphasise how much or how many
Eg. We have solved 9 exercises in the last two days.
3.PPS focuses on the result of a finished action , while PPC emphasises a ' visible ' result of a finished / unfinished action
Eg. We have learnt the irregular verbs , we are ready to study perfect tenses !
Don't enter the kitchen because mum has been cooking since early in the morning !
4. PPC emphasises a temporary action
She has been eating a lot of sushi recently ( I haven't noticed this before )
